Columbus Zoo & Aquarium School
The
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium School is a cooperative effort between
the Educational Service Center of Franklin County, the Delaware/Union
Educational Service Center, the Delaware Area Career Center and
the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. This program provides an alternative
educational opportunity for high school juniors and is taught on-site
at the Columbus Zoo, the largest municipally owned zoo in the United
States.

What
We Offer/Performance Promises:
- Provides
a block-scheduled zoology course with classroom, laboratory and
field experiences.
- Designed
to give students greater insight and understanding of the challenges/promises
of a field-based science course not possible within the traditional
science classroom.
- Provides
a curriculum rich in technology, research-driven, career-focused,
and application-based.

the opportunity to study the living world within both a laboratory
and classroom setting.

to explore topics such as safety/protocol, biotechnology, cell
biology, genetics, evolution, living systems, energy transformation,

collection, computer simulation, peer teaching, and synthesis
