Ohio Assessment for Learning Network

Through a collaborative venture, Battelle-for-Kids and the Jennings Foundation have organized with various entities around the state of Ohio to form a network for promoting and supporting Rick Stiggins “Assessment FOR Learning” framework. Educational Service Center of Franklin County will serve as a regional site for this network.

As schools implement standards-based education, the need for aligned classroom assessment becomes more critical to the instructional design process. Stiggins’ professional development framework for assessment literacy focuses on job-embedded learning teams working together to develop their knowledge and skills in diagnostic, formative and summative assessment design. ESCFC consultants are available to work with schools as they implement the Assessment FOR Learning framework. Opportunities to network with other districts implementing this framework will be provided on a quarterly basis.

Materials (books/CDs/DVDs and video tape programs) will be available through ESCFC.
