Meeting Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) Requirements
for Intervention Specialists

2008 HQT Details

The Ohio Department of Education and the Franklin County Educational Service
Center are offering a professional development opportunity to train regional or
local facilitators to deliver a program for special education intervention specialists
in grades 7-12, to meet the HQT requirements of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and
the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA).

This program will provide teachers a flexible, convenient opportunity to
accumulate the required 45 hours of training in the content areas assessed on the
Ohio Graduation Test (writing, reading, mathematics, science or social studies).
