Behavior Intervention Support Service


The goal of the Behavior Intervention Support Service is to assist school personnel and parents in insolating and targeting interventions, using positive behavior supports that result in improved student achievement.

What We Offer/Performance Promises:

  • Assist teachers and staff in completing functional behavior assessments in a variety of special education and school environments.
  • Assist teachers and staff in the design, implementation and monitoring of intervention plans related to individual students or specific classrooms.
  • Aid/assist building Intervention Assistance Teams
  • Provide customized training for staff in the areas of:
    • personal safety and crisis management
    • paraprofessional roles and responsibilities

Key Benefits:

  • Help districts comply with positive behavior support mandate from IDEA.
  • Increase the capacity of teachers and staff to assess and handle behavior issues in their classrooms.
  • Guide development of individual behavior plans that are aligned with student IEPs.
  • Monitor/refine behavior intervention plans onsite (ongoing process).
  • Serving as an objective member of MFE and IEP teams.
